Oracle Announces the General Availability of Oracle Database@Azure

Oracle Database@Azure is now available in the Microsoft Azure East US region. This service enables Oracle to run and manage Oracle Exadata Database Service in Azure. More Oracle database services will follow on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) in Azure. The service facilitates the cloud migration of business-critical workloads and offers the benefits of Oracle Database and Azure services such as Azure OpenAI Service. Further availability in different regions is planned, providing customers with flexible cloud migration options, optimal Oracle Database performance and a simplified, secure environment in Azure.
Oracle Continues AI Momentum with NVIDIA AI Enterprise and DGX Cloud Availability in the Oracle Cloud Marketplace

Oracle now offers NVIDIA AI Enterprise and the NVIDIA DGX Cloud AI platform in the Oracle Cloud Marketplace. Customers can use NVIDIA’s accelerated and scalable AI platform on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The service enables easy end-to-end AI development and deployment on OCI. Customers can purchase NVIDIA AI Enterprise and NVIDIA DGX Cloud with their existing Oracle Universal Credits. This enables training of large-scale models for generative AI applications on OCI, including optimized workloads through NVIDIA NeMo. After training, customers can run inferences with NVIDIA AI Enterprise on any OCI compute instance. The service provides access to comprehensive training and inferencing capabilities on OCI alongside other cloud services.

Oracle announces Database 23c with new generative AI functions

Oracle is introducing new semantic search functions in Oracle Database 23c, including AI vector search. This makes it possible to save the semantic content of documents and images as vectors and use them for fast similarity queries. The functions also support Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), an AI technique for precise answers to natural language questions. Oracle emphasizes that no expertise in machine learning is required, enabling all database users to use it in less than 30 minutes. Oracle offers the “EU Sovereign Cloud”, a solution that enables companies to have sovereignty over their data and governance rules.

The Sovereign Cloud is part of Oracle’s distributed cloud strategy and is aimed at companies in highly regulated industries. Oracle and Red Hat collaboration
